I'm clearing out a few older bottles while settling into social isolation. This has been a reliable and surprisingly good wine from the very northern end of the Great Southern wine region, and I have most vintages forward of this resting peacefully in the cellar.
Purple in colour and quite intense in colour. Cloves, vanilla, spice on the nose, over the top of developed plummy fruit and dark berries. The palate is the winner - soft but with still enough acid to be refreshing. Tannins well integrated, and there's almost juicy (though stewed) dark fruits leading to a reasonably long finish. Some thickness of texture, and good palate weight.
Possibly better a year ago, but by no means dead - just slightly on the decline, and also my last bottle. Time to tackle the 2011s.
Cheers
Allan

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.

Yep, these guys always seem to fly under the radar. Excellent quality, especially the Rieslings and shiraz.

Agree - it was the Rieslings that first attracted my interest about 10 years ago.Dave Dewhurst wrote:Yep, these guys always seem to fly under the radar. Excellent quality, especially the Rieslings and shiraz.
