Wine fridge box/bottle storage question.

Post by Manno »

A quick question for those that have experience with wine fridges. Ive decided to move the wines i have into a pair of Kitchener peltier type wine fridges.

So the question i have is.... do i need to remove them from their boxes and place them all in as individual bottles? Or is the cardboard fine to go in?

Cheers

The cardboard is fine, you will be sacrificing a large amount of storage capacity however.

I used to have one of the 430 bottle kitcheners, I would keep the bottom section free to slide boxes in on delivery if I did not have the time to find a home on a shelf and enter them into cellartracker. Eventually of course the bottom was also stacked tightly with bottles...

Yeah your right. Capacity will suffer. I just hate the idea of having everything out of boxes, especially if its years away from seeing the light of day. But that may not be a very rational thought. We’re likely to move within the year too. So i like stuff already packed in boxes.

So besides the practicality. The cardboards not likely to deteriorate?

Thanks Mike. The boxes are going straight in then!
