TN: SC Pannell Tanino 2016

An imposing name, as I am not a fan of big-tannin beasties. From a vineyard in Amery Road. A blend of Malbec, Shiraz, Touriga and Tinto Cao. Dusty black cherries and mulberries, black olives and a square of nougat; quite a daunting nose. The palate is more twiggy, a scoop of earthiness with light red cherries, smooth but with firm tannins and a grippy finish. Well balanced and more of a food wine than an alone-in-the-wardrobe wine. 13.8% abv, sealed under screwcap, $30 RRP. Drink 2020-2025
