Gavin,
The Jamieson Run range has exploded to the point where I can no longer get my head around all the various permutations and price points. But my dinner group bought various wines (as a group) from 98 to cellar and drink over the years. The notes I posted previously may have died with the old forum. Extracting from my notes, I find the following:
1998 JamisonÂ’s Run Reserve Cabernet (Coonawarra)
(May02) The overwhelming aroma of this deep red wine is liquorice, with blackberries. This is attractively ripe, but a softer wine, which seems somehow undefined among the other cabernets tonight*. OK, but nothing special.
1998 JamiesonÂ’s Run AlexanderÂ’s Block Cabernet Sauvignon (Coonawarra)
(Jun02) Exquisite cabernet nose – blackcurrant, ripe blackberries, musk, spearmint. This wine manages to be elegant and powerful, of medium weight. The nose promises a little more than the palate delivers, true, but I think 5 or so years will see this bloom beautifully. Lovely wine.
Hopefully one of those is what you're looking for. The * above means wines from the night, which were (all 98 vintage)
de Bortoli Yarra Valley
Bin 707
St Hugo
Pepper Tree reserve Coonawarra

cheers,
Graeme
