25,000 litres of wine destroyed

Post by brodie »

Does anyone know what this is about / back story?

Not very high end wine by the look of it; 25k litres valued at $60k means it valued at $2.40/litre.

That seems like a very low price per litre compared to Kellermeister's range, perhaps they produce for third parties, or maybe the court used a lowball valuation, like the production cost or something? Trevor Jones used the work for Kellermeister apparently so I guess there might have been some bad blood going back there?

His dad sold the company to a third party. Clearly he was "not happy Jan".

According to an article on the original proceedings in 2015 the value was $300,000 so I think you are right

It seems 3 of the 5 charges were dropped according to Brodie's article, maybe that's part of it too?
