Great to have you back again!
Re: Melbourne Offline / 12 May / Shiraz - VIC vs. SA
mjs... I've tentatively put you down for a Coonawarra Shiraz.
If this offline follows the pattern of our Cabernet themed offlines last year, there will be a Coonawarra vs. <insert wine region here> Shiraz theme up next.

Re: Melbourne Offline / 12 May / Shiraz - VIC vs. SA
Someone asked me a good question regarding the theme - are we allowing Shiraz blends? As long as it's predominantly Shiraz that's fine. SV blends or similar OK.
Re: Melbourne Offline / 12 May / Shiraz - VIC vs. SA
85% at least majority. Otherwise the comparison gets too watered down.

Sounds like it will be an eventful tasting, I'm looking forward to hearing the results.
I also can't help thinking about which of the few wines that I have in Australia I would choose had I been attending.

Malcolm, Bowen Ampelon, Wynns Michael, Zema family, Katnook Prodigy...plenty of choices.
Went and watched our footy team last Friday night get absolutely smashed, still being in the Audi club quaffing Tanqueray and Heineken made it slightly easier to cope with.
Cheers
Craig.

SO i wasn't the only blues supporters crying into my beer.
A buddy of mine generously lent me his members passes. Aside from the game the Ade oval is a great venue.
Not for Carlton though. That's twice we've belted here. And I mean BELTED.
Sorry to drift off topic. This looks like a great night. Enjoy.
There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot.

Scotty,
Don't mind going off topic briefly, but Sat night was woeful wasn't it!?
Yes, the Shiraz shoot-out should be good! As Craig says, plenty of material to work with, but not giving anything away atm!
Cheers, Malcolm

I've always wondered if Coonawarra makes any decent shiraz worth trying?

Two is better than one. Rory is also bringing a sparkling Shiraz as a starter.
