1996 Domaine Faiveley 1er Cru Mercurey, Clos des Myglands (cork): 12.5% alc. Light to medium brick. Smoky and meaty at first with complex soy, black tea and mushroom characters, but there’s also a touch of damp cork taint that intensifies with breathing. This would have been superb if it wasn’t for the fault. Last bottle, damn it!
