Sydney posters (or anyone else that can get here) who have not previously been to an offline dinner, come and join us. You get the chance to try an amazing amount of good wine and the people are fun to be with. Make it your new year's resolution.

Happy with either, but expecting a New World focus. Always nice to compare old and new world examples alongside each other though, so no rule either way, hoping for a few non-aussies at least.

Well I know I have the Leeuwin Chard 05 I can bring along. If any one has some Hoddles Pinot, I would love to try one - I must be the last wine nut never to actually try either their white or red.

As I said above, both are fine, whatever people want to bring!

1 Chardonnay, 2 Chardonnay or 1 Chard+1 Pinot are the available options. From anywhere, Oz, Burg, Jura, Italy, NZ etc

I like seeing how old world wines show alongside new world, it's often eye opening (in both directions).

OK , thanks everyone, event is now full, taking extra names for the reserve list, reasonable chance of getting in once we set the date and allow for the usual dropout or three.

Thanks hacker, I think just based on that I'll lock in Thurs 2nd and be done with it. I know not all do, but I slightly prefer Thursday over Friday myself so organisers choice kicks in.

Date is Thursday 2nd March. First post updated.

interesting that Melbourne and Sydney groups seem to be going in parallel a bit at the moment. Burgundy last week, then other pinot first week of March!! We should continue to compare notes!

Hi all,

OK so it ticked most boxes for me, and the other place I had in mind couldn't guarantee to fit us all at one table so I've talked to La Mint and booked in the following custom menu aimed at avoiding too much chilli and being fairly Chardonnay and Pinot friendly. One fixed price for everything, bring cash if possible please to avoid too many c/c's on the night. I liked the quieter ambience, good size tables, plenty of space, central location, wine friendly staff and decent food. We are OK to bring Champagne too if someone wants to nominate that as their wine, or one of their wines.

First post has been updated with the event info as well.

Custom Menu - Fixed price $85 inc Sparkling/Still Water, Corkage, Tea/Coffee & Tip.

Starters/Entrees
Papillotes De Fromages - Bega cream cheese in crispy dumplings
Salmon Rolls - Soft rice paper rolls of smoked salmon mints with Dijon soy
Grilled Scallops - Seared scallop on the shell with lemongrass shallots & crushed peanut
Vine Beef - Seasoned tenderloin wrapped in vine leaves & char-grilled, with crushed peanut

Banana Blossom Chicken - Corn fed chicken, banana blossom, roasted peanuts & fresh herbs in lemon dressing (larger portion)

Bun Bo Xao - Sauteed Angus beef seasoned with lemongrass, w/ vermicelli, lettuce and herbs, topped with roasted peanuts

Duck Confit - Slow cooked crispy skin duck dressed with French cherry glaze (Main size)

Dessert - La Mint's exotic bittermelon jelly with coconut sago

I'm glad you enjoyed it and excellent menu. We could try again to see if LTD is open beforehand for those who want to arrive early. I will check and come back on the point.

Can I get in early and say I am bringing a Curly Flat pinot and a Mayer Pinot. Not sure what vintages yet 2012 I think.

So if anyone has Curly and wants to start a bit of a vertical...
