Thought one of these would make a good decanter.
Easier to clean and easier to handle.
I have a krosnos decanter but it's a beast to handle and clean.

Reminds me of my rush to get the Abercorn 1997 shiraz anointed with 97 points by Halliday back when he really meant it. Except methinks he just wrote the vintage twice :(

Yes will be interesting if it makes its way down to $100 by midday...great wine but me thinks still a little overpriced.

forgot it was wynnsday, usually a joke but some sharp pricing from a certain retailer with a 20% discount plus a rebate from qwibble ends up seeing me get a 6 pack of 2012 JR for a tad over 83 a bottle. Very happy with that.
and while that was happening, got an email from lion nathan and was told they had released 2010 HOG so grabbed a 3 pack of that. rockford's around the corner as well eh, god damn

Hi Vihn, can you please kindly advise the damage for those 2010 HOG? Thank you.

I squandered $620/bottle during the triple cellar Share promotion last month. :(

Cousin's 50th next year. Just getting organised as the prices will ramp up once 1 January clicks over. I'm a humble 1970 - did pick up two old 1970 Orlando Barossa Hermitages the other day with good fill levels. We'll see how they are travelling next month when I have a little birthday shindig. Might keep one for an offline though ...

picked up a case of Primo Estate's new sangiovese. 2014 vintage, first release of a new wine for them, so cellar door only.

...and it's pretty good. Dark clear red, cherries, leather and a bit of alcohol on the nose. More body than it looks like it ought to have, I suspect from a bit of residual sugar, but that is really nicely balanced with long acidity and tannin. cherries and chocolate dominate the palate, but in a savoury way. It is much more substantial wine than I was expecting after the description of the telesales guys ("delicious light lunch wine"), and to me is a really nice study in balance between sugar, acid and tannin -the fruit and chocolate are happy bonuses. It is quite similar to Primo's Briccione Shiraz-Sangiovese blend. Well worth a look if you can find some.
