2013 Warrabilla Parola's Releases

Post by Redwine&Rum »

Hi Guys

Anyone tried the 2013 Warrabilla premium red releases (Zin, Durif, Shiraz & Cav Sauv). All seem to be getting fairly decent reviews (with Durif getting the highest).
I've purchased a 6 pack of the Durif for long term storage. Just wondering if anyone has tried the others, and if they are good value at $35 a pop.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

I opened the '13 Parola's Durif the other night. Very good stuff if you are into monster Durifs. Concentrated fruit and high in alcohol (17.5%?) Blew my mind away. Last night opened the 2009 Reserve Durif and was also amazed.

Yeah heard the Durif's were the goods, which is why I picked them up first. The high alcohol's don't worry me, but only if they interfere with the wine. If you didn't know about the high alc's in the wine, do they show up in tasting?
Anyone tried the parola Shiraz, Zin and Cab Sauv?

I have ordered Parola Shiraz, Cab Sauv, as well as Durif which will hopefully be arriving this week. Once arrived I will give them a try and let you know how they are going.

Wine is considered a work of art, but, unlike a painting, wine exists for that brief instant in time after the cork gets pulled, it's a transient moment but it can leave an indelible impression
