2010 Domaine Faiveley Beaune 1er Cru Clos de l’écu (cork): 13% alc. Light to almost medium red/purple. Lovely perfume on the nose, rose water, musk sticks, cherries and a little beetroot, spice and tobacco in the distance; the palate’s chewy but quite approachable with bright cherries and thick tannins, the length excellent and just slightly smoky. It isn’t a blockbuster, but I like it.

 Cheers,
Ian
