Apparently there were two releases of this wine. All of mine were sourced from the original release and whilst I havn't tried the second release I hear it is not quite the same as the first.
Anywhooo, had this with veal cutlets; a very dark purple color with a wonderful intense nose of violets, dusty blackberry, cloves and a hint of eucalyptus. On the palate a muscular core of blackberry and violets with savoury characters and hints of spices, pepper, pencil shavings and eucalypt. Generous alcohol and a pleasing length, this is a very nice wine.
Note: Recently went to the cellar door to try their range of latest releases and they don't come anywhere near this effort!
