Wild Duck Creek Regulars - O to ask

Post by Deano »

My first mail has arrived from WDCE; letter attached welcoming me as a newbie and an order form. This is my first time in receiving an order form without prices per bottle. Can someone please explain why? And what the typical price would be. Also there are no vintages per wine...??? Thanks in advance.
Cheers

G'day Deano

The wines are great, but the ordering system is less than optimally organised. Whatever you order one year seems to become your "standing order" for the next year. I now just write what I want from the wines on offer and send it off.

There is usually a long wait between ordering your wines and receiving them (Duck usually delivers them himself). He usually puts on a tasting of the new wines at someone's house in each major city.

My form is at work but I think the Springflat Shiraz is $38 this year, the Blend is $26 or $28 and the Yellow Hammer Hill Shiraz Malbec is $23(?)

As you are a first timer I recommend you ring the winery to sort out your order, but I don't remember there being bottle limits on any of the annual wines (maybe 12 on the Springflat?).

It is all worth it for what's in the bottle.

Cheers
