2009 Forest Hill Vineyard Chardonnay

Thanks Sean for the tasting note. I have 3 bottles of this and haven't read a tasting note anywhere. What are your impressions on aging capabilities for this wine? I prefer aged chardonnays but I think the new style that seems to be in vogue, doesn't age as well as the more rich, well Oaked styles from say 10 years ago.

Although I have not yet tried the 2009, I've been buying and drinking Forest Hill Chardonnay since 2005 or earlier. But let me use the 2008 as an example.

When purchased a year ago, it started off in the leaner style that Sean mentions. However, it's now blown out a little and become bigger and more prominent peach flavours. A year ago, I would have put some away for 3-5 years, but now I'm suggesting 'drink up'. I have a little remaining from 2007 which will also be tested soon, and have already cleared out my stock of 2006 and earlier (this was the house white for a year or two).

I have had 2 bottles of this, have 2 left and more to add as it's damn good drop. It's certainly tightly
wound, but hidden below it is all good fruit and oak. If you are going to drink it now then don't drink it to
cold.

By the way our friend GW at wine front gave it a drinking window of 2012-17, if that helps?....
