Heathcote cellar door recommendations

Post by winepunter »

Hi

I am heading to Heathcote in mid August with a few other winers and was wondering if anyone had any cellar door recommendations? I am a fan of the big red if that helps.

cheers
PJ

Heathcote is not the most friendly and 'open' wine region for a visit. Many are owned by 'weekend warrior' winemakers that don't look like they care to mcuh about attracting visitors.

Here are my picks...

Jasper Hill - appointment required
Munari
Downing Estate
Flynns Wine (Good for lunch too)
Heathcote Winery
Cheers

Thanks for the tip Ric

I will go and have a look at the vineyards you have suggested. I am intrigued by your comment about attracting visitors. Is there something specific that the weekend warriors do or don't do that makes you say that?

Cheers
