A very nice selection of wines, makes me envious. Perfectly fine notes Tim, concise and to the point. Which ones were the quiet and desperate guests?
Thanks ................ Mahmoud.

I'll leave that question up to them to point out if they wish.....
Mahmoud, since you're in town, I'm sure we could do something similar sometime before you leave.....

Thanks for the kind words, but was definitely a team effort. Tim did a heap of organising and what not for the Hunter, Odyssey (Andrew) did all the restaurant running around and getting that organised etc. Plus all the crew going through their own collections and bringing interesting wines while trying to keep it balanced and of course coming along for the evening. (the thread on our forums got up to 6 pages trying to nut out what to bring
We are all definitely wine tragics.
It’s always fun to share your/our love of Aussie wine with overseas visitors so it has been a great 2 days for me personally.

A very enjoyable night so thanks team! Loved the old school wines, loved the whites and totally agree with Tim's highlights reel although I'd toss the Mitchelton in there too as a highlight... didn't pick up any TCA personally!

Totally! So hard to decide what to show as there are so many options. Our Seattle visitor said he had a great night and that Aussie wine is great, so a big thumbs up there.

Actually, not much running around after hitting the book button on St Claude's. To start, their website booking system is fast and straightforward, the restaurant was closed for the week but no issue there. Ryan was extremely accommodating on the phone and very open to reasonable negotiation on restaurant policy given it was midweek. It really was a no fuss booking and I'd be glad to go back.
I actually called Otto first and it was a bit of a pain dealing with their inflexible bureaucratic policies. St Claude's is a breath of fresh air, humanising the restaurant booking experience.

That would be lovely. Have you any dates in mind, and would it be fair to assume, based on the above, that weekdays are more convenient?
Mahmoud.

That comment was regarding set menu for 10+ vs a la carte. BYO fine any day. Also there are other good options too, depending. Whereabouts are you?

Folks, Patrice and I were simply overwhelmed by your generosity. A single thank you isn't going to cut it, so:
- Thank you to Dave for taking the day off to drive us up to Hunter Valley and sharing his love of the wineries and wines.
- Thank you to Tim for spending the day with us and arranging a private tasting at Tyrells. It was there that it really started to dawn on us that Semillion was being fashioned into a world-class wine at the hands of Hunter Valley winemakers.
- Thank you to Andrew for arranging the wonderful dinner at st. claudes.
- Thank you to everyone that attended the wine dinner for putting together an absolutely stunning lineup of wine
- Thank you to michelle 1 and michelle A (the names they came up with!) for attending, Patrice (and I) so enjoyed meeting you
beyond the wine, we enjoyed our glimpse into what life is like in sydney and, in the end, it doesn't seem all too different from ny. Finally, we came to understand firsthand the meaning of Austrailian spirit and hospitality.
best,
jeff and patrice

Castle Hill, but that's not a worry as my partner and I are used to taking public transit into the CBD almost every Thursday and returning home late. In other words, we are flexible.
Mahmoud.

Amazing hospitality and generosity Dave, Tim and Andrew. I would have been blown away if strangers had offered the same open armed welcome to me anywhere. Hats off to you all!
The dinner looks like it was a beauty and St Claude's is well and truly on the offline list going forward.
Hope to catch up with you all soon.
Cheers,
Paul
