More 2013 Barolo purchases sure to come.

Followed suite ...but had to buy 6 x of each in bond . Prefer the 3 x option

You probably paid less for your 6 than I did for 3.

A few auction purchases tonight.

Tried to snag some Tenuta delle Terre Nere Etna, I missed out

Still managed to get a few Burgs, although I missed out on a few. The bidding was quite fierce on some lots.

1 x 2003 Bouchard Père et Fils Beaune 1er Cru Grèves Vigne de L'Enfant Jesus
1 x 2005 Domaine Arlaud Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Les Ruchots
1 x 2005 J. Confuron-Cotetidot Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots
1 x 2005 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Cherbaudes Vieille Vigne
1 x 2005 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Combes aux Moines Vieille Vigne
1 x 2006 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Combes aux Moines Vieille Vigne

And some Barolo too for a bargain price:

3 x 2012 Marcarini Barolo Brunate
3 x 2012 Marcarini Barolo La Serra

After entering my purchases into CellarTracker, I noticed that I'd passed a milestone and fulfilled one of my New Years Wine Resolutions for 2017. I've now got more Pinot than Shiraz. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Marcarini and good value at the best of times - proper cellaring Barolo. A label I'd also recommend in warmer vintages where other wines may end up fat and overcooked, but Marcarini comfortably avoid it.

Ozzie I've been surprised by Barolo 2013. There's greed in the U.K. Market driving up prices and some of the Aussie offers are impressive considering

Hi Jamie
Exchange rates not helping the prices. I'm in the lucky position that I've got some decent stock so don't need to chase this or the next vintage of the century! Will probably grab the odd bottle at retail somewhere along the line.

Any experiences with Trimbach Clos Ste Hune's? Particularly the VT 1989
Just bought a birth year (1989) for my wife
I believe they didn't make the regular but only made the VT that year.

CT indicates it's going pretty strong still, but would love to hear any other experiences?

I've had the 'regular' 1990 CSH recently and it's in great nick. 89 was also a pretty good year, so should be good if well stored

Still available at retail for pretty much double the prices paid at the auction last night. Good reviews on CellarTracker. Was a no brainer to buy some.

Got smashed by the pros - something like 87 from both Galloni and Kerin o keefe for Marcarini Brunate 2012. And no reviews in Australia by Walsh (don't know whether he tasted and then declined to review, or didn't receive).

Thanks. Suspected as much . Maybe they know what they're are talking about but I don't think there is a more underscored scored region in time. Barring obvious faults it's a big call . That said , solid producer with occasional excellent wines .
