I swear, last I checked, (4 minutes after you posted) this was oversubscribed.

However, should there be space Mr Vino, i'm keen.

I am going to push this back to the 15th as a few people have indicated they'd prefer the later date. (I'm not fussed)

I have it on the best of authority that if one posts the same venue three times and no one objects then it is automatically deemed to be the chosen venue.

if we are moving it to the 15th, can we push it out one more week and go for say the 23rd or 24th?

I can only do the 15th or 16th out of those dates. Either in Sussex Inlet or on the barrier reef the other dates. I don't expect much sympathy if that doesn't work for most :)

I know it is still a month away but did we lock a date for this? Just trying to work out my commitments for January...and whether I need to pick up a rhone from somewhere :)

Hi Dave,

I should be available at this stage and I am keen on this tasting. Can you please count me in?
Also, what's the estimated bottle price for this theme? Because I don't want to be "Blacklisted" by bringing in wines like "Guigal Côtes du Rhône Rouge", whereas the rest of the tasting group bringing in extraordinary stuff like "Guigal La Turque Côte Rôtie" and expected me to bring in wines of similar calibre. :?:

Thank you.

No limit/price on this. Bring something interesting you want to try/show.

From knowing who is coming and what they are fans of...I'm expecting some Beaucastel, Pegau and the like and I'm bringing a Rayas Fonsalette and a Rostaing Cote Rotie (Cote Blonde) if that helps.

I'm not expecting any La-La's. :D

People can start nominating what they are likely bringing by all means.

Which vintage? I was going to bring a 2003 Rayas Fonsalette. :D

Speaking of which, my Fonsalette is 02. Looks like a mini-vertical is in play!

I'm happy to do the 03 and 02 side by side as a mini-vertical. :)

I'll bring a 2000 Fonsalette...which didn't show well at the Rayas thing but hopefully will be better this time...

Not sure with the changed date whether that means I will get a run here or not :)

If so, is anyone against a rhone but non blend? Was thinking of bringing a 2010 Paul Jaboulet Aine Côte-Rôtie Domaine des Pierrelles, which is 100% Syrah.

All OK including 16 I think. Not sure about wine yet.

Hi all,

Has the venue and time been confirmed? I am having trouble tracking down good vintages Châteauneuf-du-Pape at reasonable price range of $140 - $200/bottle, the selections from Vintage Cellars & Dan Murphy's (Double Bay) are bad (either poor vintages, low critics' scores, unreasonable prices or combinations of all). Any recommendations as to which store(s) to source good vintages with good ratings at fair prices?

Thanks and Cheers,
Michael
