Strictly those regions or is there space for "other famous Cabernets/regions" category? Plenty of classy if not world class Cabs from other areas (Napa, Tuscany, NZ).
I was thinking a Stony Ridge Larose or Te Mata Coleraine if allowed.
I've spoken to the restaurant and we are locked in for the 6th of November. That's only 7 and a bit weeks away. The chef will be creating a menu for us to go with the Cabernet theme.
The tables will be set up the same as before with 2 lots of 8 next to each other.
We'll start confirming final numbers a couple of weeks out using the ordered list. If you know your wine please send them through and I'll update the list. If you can't make it, let me know so we can remove you from the list as well.
I appreciate all forms of alcohol, as long as its wine.
5 weeks to go until this offline. After last nights Pinot dinnerI'm looking forward to the King of Grapes.
If anyone knows they can't make it please let me know. Also if you know what wine you're bringing, let me know and I'll update it in the master list on page 1.

So its now a World wide cabernet tasting.
Still doubt that I am going to be in town for this one, but if it is a "World Wide" theme, just thought I'd mention that I had some excellent Sth African, Chilean and Argentinian cabs at a cabernet masterclass in Coonawarra 12 months ago, there's plenty of it out there!!

ps: currently drinking a rather nice Chilean Cab blend (Montes 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Carmenere) in the lounge at HK airport!!
Sorry to hear that CK (got your PM BTW), I think we should move the event to a date that suits you. Given that it was your idea, I'm sure you'd like to be there and I've got a lot going on myself so happy to let you stay in the drivers seat too!
So... EDIT : Sticking with original date.

Hey guys and gals, I think pc79 can't make it either, so given how busy everyone is this time of year, we're three out already and the body count is likely to increase .....
Executive decision (after PM's from CK on the topic).
We will now stick to the original date of the 6th November, I'll take over FWIW, and Croquet King will have to organise the next one!
The venue is sorted, people have allocated the night already, let's carry on for Friday 6th November. Will amend my previous post.
I'm good and at this stage still healthy. Surely by now the man flu season must be over. If I have actually graduated to a table put me down for Pontet Canet 2003.

Hey, not fair! That was going to be my offering. Now I'll have to go to my offsite storage and rustle up something else.
If the Pontet is on song, it is a lovely wine. I am on your table so that makes me happy.
Imugene, cure for cancer. Brainchip, solution for compute.
Thanks for the update TiggerK. Im looking forward to coming along to my first offline. Sorry to hear you cant make it CK.
Just to clarify, is it straight Cabernet only or is that now extended to Bordeaux Blend (or other Cab blends for that matter)? Im happy with whatever the choice is but just need to know what to raid from the cellar.

Hacker if you've got some of the PC 03, I think I've also got some Wynns JR 98 or 99 in the garage wine fridge which I could substitute. Failing that I'd also have to go to my offsite locker. Which storage co are you with?

Even without seeing the final line up, my guess is this will go close to WOTN. An excellent old world wine with a touch of new world to it due to the vintage.
if your going to miss offlines over the next 9 months make up for it with some nice dinners out. And lots of sleep! They become a rarity once the bun is out of the oven
