Have already popped one of the '92 Anderson's and it's in good nick. Funky and earthy and a little bit sweet, and still got some fruit.

Where did you find the Noble One - I've been looking (albeit, cheaply)?

Really love it too, but about a 1/3 failure rate with the corks (750ml), a statistic backed up by the fine wine guy at one my of local DM's. Buy it and try it, and return it if needed!!

I haven't had a failure yet! So that's why I keep gettin' 'em. I want to try the '98, but the Mrs is digging in her heels ("We've only got one!")

He got the Noble at a well known auction site I think.

Be warned, the Lanson 98 is much more in that crisp acidic style than the richer, plusher 96. Not bad of course, but quite different to the 96. The 99 is OK, but I'd buy the 02, keep enjoying the 96, and wait a few more years for the 02 to develop a bit.

Craig, check your PM's.

Cheers
Tim

1996 Lanson isn't what I would call plush ;) Still quite firm when sourced in the UK a few months back. Suspect more rapid development due to heat exposure, especially considering the failure rate reported.

cheers
