Good question...

Now, I'm going to give my reason for choice before the wines. I am a lover of Victoria's cool climate Shiraz, and bet they are going to get increasingly popular (and therefore expensive). So, cellar a $50 now...as it will be a lot (lot) more expensive in 10 years time...

I agree with Cuttlefish on Bests Bin 0...but sadly I am not sure we will see it around $50 any again. As with Langi Shiraz, the price has gone up a lot in the last couple of years (or maybe I am not looking in the right places).

So, instead, I shall propose the following (in no particular order):

Craiglee Shiraz (Sunbury).
De Bortoli Reserve Syrah (Yarra).
Paradise IV Dardel Shiraz (Geelong). (although I actually prefer Bates Ford...especially the newly released '10)
Story Wines (possibly Rice Vineyard) (Grampians).
Dalwhinnie Moonambel Shiraz (Pyrenees).

Some have great history of taking the years...some haven't been around enough! If I had to pick one, I would go for the Dalwhinnie...

Id go the 2009 De Iuliis, Steven vineyard Shiraz
or like some others have said, a good vintage of the Vat 9.

Reason.... I love aged Hunter Shiraz.

Also Rieslings like Petaluma HH or Grosset PH. Aged riesling is my favourite white.
