Opaque, brick red colour with obvious sediments. Nose is restrained with some berry characters. Palate soft and long with good fruit and hints of mocha. Mouthfilling with complexity. A great wine and drinking well. Probably just off its prime for some. 12.5% alc
This was the famous part-Jimmy-Watson winning wine, being the one that Mildara 'watered-down' with non-trophy material and sold. Perhaps the first (inadvertant) shot in the war against awarding trophies to unfinished wines... I've often wondered how well it aged.
