Ugg boots and rum

Post by cuttlefish »

Jeez it's cold in Sydney today !
Jeez Bundy Black is good drink ! It's helping reduce the frigid conditions of this cold, cold day.
So I need some uggies, but I can't seem to find any big enough. Does anyone know somewhere in Sydney where they sell them in big sizes, like 13+ ?
Smack my [insert grape type here] up !

Size 13? Just buy a sheep. ;)

Try the Ron Zacapa rum. New favourite dark spirit chez Wizz,

I've been in Qld for nearly 12 years now and still can't drink bundy. Horrible stuff.
Ron Zacapa 23 anos on the other hand... Es muy, muy rico. :D

In the winter it is always a toss up between an Islay malt or a Zacapa for me, depending on whether I am after sweet or savoury.

Mount Gay Extra Old is a seriously tasty rum, and if you can ever get your hands on some Damoiseau Rhum Vieux Agricole you'll really know a sipping rum!

Not a rum drinker (scotch instead virtually the only spirit I drink) but did find the regular Mount Gay to be pretty easy drinking, neat over ice.

For those in Sydney at the moment all these rum suggestions are very handy given the weather has turned from good, to bad, to ugly..

Me too, actually, much prefer a 16YO Laphroaig to any rum. But my brother introduced me to a couple of interesting ones. Not converted, and especially don't like the 'oily' taste of some of the Aussie brands, but some are nice sippin' drinks.

But for warmth, something from Scotland or from France (Cognac, Armagnac or calvados) is hard to beat. Unless you warm up the old spiced mead...:)

Must say I am partial to Bacardi 8 and I prefer Scotch too, but a nice dark rum hits the spot and can be drunk on the rocks like I like my scotches.
