Barossa fortified suggestions

My girlfriend and I will be doing a trip to the Barossa soon. Thing is, the only wines she enjoys are fully oxidised fortifieds such as tawnies, muscats, tokays etc. Who should we visit in the Barossa who make good examples of such things (other than the obvious Seppeltsfield)?

Burge Family Winemakers at Lyndoch have some lovely old fortifieds. Their 'Wilsford' range contain wines whose average age ranges from 15yo to 35yo, all made
by the producer ( that is, they don't buy old material and put their label on it, as is increasingly happening ). Been making fortifieds since the late 1920's.
Their V O Tawny won Gold at last year's Rutherglen Show.

I would recommend Liebichwein. It is a family run business who specialize in fortifieds and are very welcoming. I have now been using them to stock my barrel. cheers Gerry

For VP's try Winter Creek (uses shiraz) and Tscharke (uses touriga?).

Gumpara Wines make a NV Tawny Granache. They also do liqueur frontignac and semillion. You can taste these at the Collective Barossa store in Tanunda.

I've bought Dutschke fortifieds from auction, and they're pretty nice too.

For something a little different, go to Kellermeister Wines (just out of Lyndoch, heading towards Tanunda) to try their "Sable" chocolate liqueur. Old-fashion (some say daggy) label, but a nice chocolate-infused ruby port.

They also have a white tawny, "Oregon Brown" tawny port, and a liqueur shiraz.

I would also say Liebichwein.. great fortifieds in bottle plus if you are looking for bulk port for a barrell they do some great 5 year old.

You can't go past the Winter Creek VP Shiraz (multi award winner), "The Sommelier" 25yo Tawny and theLeibich Fortifieds. The best in the B Valley in my opinion.

All good suggestions but I'd do Seppeltfield first and then see if you really feel like you need to try to top the experience; bloody hard unless you want to kick on to Rutherglen for a few days. Take her on the Centenary Tour and get to taste from the barrel of your birth year. How cool is that? Last time I was there all we got was a picture with our birth year barrel.

Seppeltsfield, Dutschke, Old Kapunda Distillary, Liebichwein, Burge Family....a lot of places have some amazing ports tucked Away for personal hydration...show some interest and they might drag you off with a siphon hose to have a gander.
