2005 Ngeringa J.E. Pinot Noir, Adelaide Hills (screwcap): Murky, light to medium garnet. It smells of all the right things, strawberry jam and cherry stalks, sandalwood, nutmeg and other ground spices, a little touch of milk chocolate and sous bois, then fresh mushrooms and smoked meats. The palate’s just as earthy and meaty, a touch gamey too, sweet and sour cherries with a little mint, and soft, furry tannins that give it weight and length that just wasn’t there three years ago. This is looking really good as it loosens up.
Cheers,
Ian

Thanks for the update. Bought a few based on the review by CM on the winefront ... the one drunk on release was very structured/backward.

It's looking a lot better than the 2005 Syrah which got even bigger raps on release - I'm not sure where that one's going to be honest, but I do have some confidence in this.
