3x 2005 Ashton Hills Sparkling Shiraz
3x 2008 Ashton Hills Estate Pinot Noir

Was tempted by the reserve Pinot but justified the purchase to myself by the $20 a bottle "saved".

Ok, with all those glowing reports from Mr Hawkins et al, I finally got involved…

2002 Dom Perignon ($125)

Before I get inundated with PMs, I bought from a Hong Kong retailer, a friend was there for work this week, and I somehow remembered the Wine Searcher pro tool I paid for a few months ago.
Did the search for Hong Kong and bobs your uncle. The only catch is there a 3 bottle limit in bringing it into Oz.

FWIW, I then did a cheeky search for 04 Grange, $300 came up, promptly emailed, but unfortunately they’d sold out.

Not sure if many of you guys use it, but it’s a great tool, particularly if you’re going overseas. It also reminds you of how WET wreaks havoc in this country.

Cheers

Ren's, after reading the reviews by everyone on auswine i also have brought a few of these to stash away. Have delayed delivery until I get back from work, as I have been now told to watch how many cases turn up for pick up at the local Post Office when I am away. My wife thinks she is becoming known as the local wino :D .........bulk port in 20 liter drums has been declared an absolute no no after the last delviery!!

cheers Gerry

Yeh its a great little wine. I've got about 18 in total in the cellar. At $13.99 each they are a bargain.
My local post office knows exactly what I'm there for every time.

Michael,

When you eventually open the Dom, save at least one glass for day 2 (use a champagne stopper). It is even better the next day IMO.

I've been snapping up some decent champers despite the cold weather...

2005 Cedric Bouchard Roses de Jeanne Champagne Blanc de Blancs Haut Lamblée
2006 Cedric Bouchard Roses de Jeanne Champagne Blanc de Blancs Haut Lamblée
2006 Cedric Bouchard Roses de Jeanne Pinot Blanc La Boloree
N.V. Cedric Bouchard Roses de Jeanne Champagne Inflorescence Blanc de Noirs
N.V. Cedric Bouchard / Roses de Jeanne Champagne Blanc de Noirs Les Ursules
2002 Paul Bara Champagne Special Club
1996 Moët & Chandon Champagne Cuvée Dom Pérignon Oenothèque
2004 Jose Dhondt Champagne Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Mes Vieilles Vignes

There's a few other growers whose names escape me.

The Cedric Bouchards are absolutely superb wines.

Hi folks,

Greetings from muggy, rainy Singapore!
It's been 2 months since I moved here, and I've only had 2 bottles of wine so far. Bloody expensive to buy wines here, so while the season's bargains are up, I bought more than I would (back in Adelaide)...
- 2 x ?? Vintage Hiedsieck Monopole
- 2 x 09 Grosset Springvale
- 2 x 10 Grosset Sprinkle
- 2 x 10 Grosset Polish Hill
- 2 x 08 Domaine Chandon Shiraz
- 2 x 08 (?) Cape Mentelle Cab Merlot
...and a 09 Kim Crawford Sav Blanc, tried and decided I don't really like it. will stick to rizzas for summer drinking... :)

Cheers!
Gosh... all this talk is making me thirsty!

12 x 03 Clos de Sarpe
3 x 84 Laville Haut Brion Blanc
3 x 84 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc
6 x 09 Mags JJ Prum Wehlemer Sonnenuhr Spatlese
6 x 09 Mags JJ Prum Wehlemer Sonnenuhr Auslese GK

Have the 05 Clos de Sarpe and bought the 03 as it was a lot cheaper and is meant to be drinkable at an early age. Tried a bottle last night and blind I would have said it came from the Barossa. Drank it next to an 05 Aromes de Pavie, which again could have been made in Auz (Mode Amarone) or Italy. Never would have guessed Bordeaux...

The Whites were bought at auction as a result of a good review from Niel Martin. First bottle of the Laville (mid shoulder) was maderised, but the Domaine de Chevalier Blanc is stunning and will last a long time yet.

No idea why I bough Magnums of Prum. Yes, the bottles look great, but I'm 45 next year and I presume the Auslese will outlive me..
This is my church, this is where I heal my hurts.

They've jacked the price up considerably on the 96 Oeno (from the 95), whereas the 02 DP is almost the same as the 00.

Ooh, I'm jealous! I thought i had secured a mag of the Spatlese but it didn't come through. so:

Mixed Doz 09 JJ Prum Kabinett to Auslese
Mixed Doz 09 Donnhoffs - some GG's then from the Oberhauser Liestenberg Kabinett through to a couple of the Goldkapsels
10 Felton Road Riesling
09 Felton Road Block 5
09 Felton Road Calvert
10 Felton Road Block 1
09 Pegasus Bay Aria
Some Ployez Jacquemart bubbles for Xmas
07 Stephane Aladame St Aubin (forget which one, but it is delicious)
08 Castagnas arrived

Not short of Christmas drinking!

Cheers
