Wine appreciation courses in Sydney

Post by AdamLG »

Hi all

My first post on the forum!

I wondered if anyone can recommend a good 'basic level' wine appreciation course in Sydney? I have been considering the four session course run by Peter Bourne in Pyrmont, or Leanne Haywards eight session course at Mosman College. If anyone has participated in these or knows any other good courses it would really help my selection.

Cheers

Adam

Welcome to the forum, AdamLG !
I've done a couple of 4 week courses with Peter Bourne and they are great. Casual, informative, and easy to understand You will taste a lot of really good wines, and some super cheeses accompany each nights session. I'd do that over Wine Society any day. The one at Mosman Evening College I don't really know about. Was run by Gerry Sissingh in the past, I think ?

The Wine Diva site (click here) has a pretty extensive listing of wine courses - do a keyword search using "Sydney".

I've also done courses and tastings with Peter Bourne and find them fantastic.

Sydney Wine Centre runs some with with Rob Geddes - Master of wine. i have done the odd masterclass there and he is pretty funny. Didn't do his long term classes though.
