New to the forums, living in Brisbane, bit of novice, but trying to stock up a little.

3 x Sons of Eden Kennedy GSM
2 x Yalumba Menzies 'The Cigar' Cabernet (2008)
2 x Possums Vineyard Shiraz (2006)
3 x Majella The Musician Cabernet Shiraz (2008)
2 x Mike Press Shiraz (2009)
2 x O'Leary Walker Shiraz (2008)
3 x Penfolds Koonunga Hill Seventy Six Shiraz Cabernet (2008)
1 x Nugan Cab (2006)

I had one of my business associates who own a number of hotels take me to lunch last week. He dipped out to his bottle shop and came back with a 2003 Jamiesons Run Country Series Coonawarra Shiraz. HIs manager had bought a number of cases from a deceased estate at a very cheap price and recommended we try. It was sensational. He went out and grabbed few bottles and gave to me after we all agreed it was a little surprise. Next evening we had some guests and after devouring some wines of sound reputation bought by guests, we knocked over a bottle of the 2003 Run. Once again, unanamous praise! Going down the coast next week, hope they have some left!

Another welcome fellow Brisbanite. The Sons of Eden 'Kennedy' is one of my favourite GSMs. Have you tried the 'Zephyrus' Shiraz/Viognier? Very delish (and Gavin our host stocks it).

Hope to see you at the next offline!

12 x 1998 Seppelts VP
For many, it was Contador versus Schleck through the tour, for me, it was the 98 cleanskin versus the 99 traditional package. And while the 99 is no slouch, the 98 really is the absolute dogs bollocks.

6 x Head Old Vines Grenache 2009
Bought on spec, absolutely cannot wait to get into one of these.

3 x Tahbilk 2006 shiraz
Every time I open one, I go and buy more exponentially. I may not stop until they run out.....

Did you try the Head Red Shiraz/Viognier Gavin? I had another the other night. Great stuff. And about 4 days later I found about half a 375ml I had put aside by accident. It was brilliant, so I reckon these might just age well also.

This is going to be a cracker in 10+ years. I've stupidly gone through a 6 pack already, but wont be opening any more for at least 8 years.

Penfolds Cellar Reserve Cabernet Shiraz 2005

been as low as $89 in NZ, same price as St Henri basically. Personally I prefer the Cab Sauv version but still a awesome wine

My tactic is to lay them down in NZ but live in London - hard to get to them!
The wine sounds like it has been put together in a classic Australian style, yet with a European palate in mind, and built to age.

Craig - yeah, I saw the $89 NZ deal, wine-searcher pro is a great thing. Now a case in FWDC who are selling it at $50 more.
Can you PM me if there is any of the Barossa Cab still mooching around unloved under $100nzd? It may be a buy for next month if so ...

Welcome clint!! I see that's your first post. Now if you can avoid drinking them for 5-20 years you'll have some great drinking there. If you can't I'd suggest putting them in a decanter for a while before enjoying.

Cheers monghead, tried one of the 91's in NZ, very good, will need to try another to be sure though!

Happy Birthday Clint!! Don't drink them all tonight! Oh all right then, go on. But post some notes when you recover. I was a long-time fan of the Bin28, then the quality dropped off while the price rose so I stopped buying. Bought a six-pack of the 07 though. Back on form I reckon.

3 x 2007 Meerea Park Alexander Munro Shiraz (sensational)
2 x 2005 Meerea Park Alexander Munro Semillion (soft, buttery but not overly so)
1 x 2009? Meerea Park Hell Hole Semillion (effectively a freebie when they gave me 10% off the 6 pack)

[Unfortunately, they wouldn't take my promissory note conditional on winning Oz Lotto to pick up a lot more of the Shiraz, we enjoyed it that much - where's the trust]

3 x 2005 Keith Tulloch Kester Shiraz

2 x 2006 Limited Release Di Iuliis Hunter Valley Shiraz

Guess where we were in July? (plus some stickies from some HV cellar doors).

3 x 2002 Penfolds Bin 28.
