You have looked forward to opening a particular wine and open the wrong vintage bottle by mistake.
It happened to me for the second time in the last 12 months tonight. I had meant to open the first of my 1996 Orlando Lawson to see how they were coming along. Accidental opened one of my last bottles of 91.
The good news is the wine is glorious and I will sure enjoy it but I would have preferred to keep it for a more suspicious occasion.
Also, in a NWR theme, don't you just love it when you get spam email offering you a solution against spam email. The ultimate oxymoron.
Don't you hate it when....
Bottle opening mistake
Sacrificed a a 99 Pikes Riesling when the ready to drink 97 should have been opened. Thought I knew where the 97's were located. Not an eye issue only an over confident memory.
Sounds like serendipity to me Ric!!
One of the reasons I stopped buying from VC even when you could find a great bargain was because they always had to babied over vintage specs, and even after making it clear it is a certain vintage you want I still got latest release thrown in. They don't mind changing (if there are any left) but what a hassle to go through!
cheers,
