Just back

Post by Gavin Trott »

Hello

The family and myself are just back from a wonderful trip top Hong Kong, we just loved the place!

Had another Kalleske Shiraz last night. I sold a fair bit of this, including to forum members, anyone out there tried it yet?

If so, please post your tasting note, I'd be very interested to read it.
regards

I loved the 2002 Kalleske. The best new release I've had in ages.

Hints of caramel, mulberry and chocolate on the nose, though fairly closed. Deep, brooding, intense fruit on the palate. Lovely structure for a high alcohol wine, great finish. I imagine the yanks will go beserk over this one.

This wine was even more enjoyable after four hours air, unfortunately coinciding with my last glass !!

Thanks Mike

Agree, especially the depth of fruit, and ultimate structure. I have put some away for aging, I think they'll age very very well.

BTW I have barrel samples here to try of the 2003 wines, should be interesting!

Are you all sold out? If not, how much is it? Sounds too good to miss :)

There is also a great write up on both Kalleske wines in today's WFM. I'm too lazy to retype it (its in PDF format). Campbell gives the shiraz 93 and the grenache 94/100
