Wine Australia Show???
Hi all,
This is my first post, though I have lurked occassionally over the last few years when looking for some information about a certain wine, etc.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone knows when the next Wine Australia (2010?) will be and which city it might be located in? I can't seem to find it mentioned anywhere on the net.
cheers

Great to meet you Paul and welcome to the forum. Let us know what your likes and dislikes in wine are
The sad news is that the powers that be in the Australian wine industry think that Wine Australia has accomplished its job and have decided not to do any more. I think 2006 was the last one? They think the strategy now should focus on tastings overseas for opinion makers and/or inviting a few of them over to Australia for multi-day retreat in the Barossa. Shame for the punters like you and me.
cheers

Bartenders are supposed to have people skills. Or was it people are supposed to have bartending skills?

Carl,
what do you think the best exhibitions are to go to each year if this one is no longer on?

Well they aren't the same but there are a few regional travelling shows. The top two would be the Coonawarra Road Show and the NZ wine one. The third show would be the Good Food and Wine Show which to a certain extent has expanded into the void that was left when Wine Australia stopped. A few others are floating about but they would be the top three. The NZ wine show doesn't travel to Perth unfortunately

Thanks for that Griff, what a pity. I used to always get the three day pass, but had not gone for a long time....obviously.
I agree, Coonawarra Roadshow is the best. Pity Barossa etc don't do the same thing, though I remember Margaret River did do something once a few years ago.

Thanks griff. I'll put them in the diary. Seems the good food and wine show has one in most major cities June through July.

I think NZ wine might be trying to gauge interest in Perth and Adelaide. Their website has a button to register interest.

Carl,
The NZ in a glass show has been to perth for the last 3 years that i know of, although i haven't been to one, it's usually in
October some time.
Another show to attend is the Artisans of the Barossa (also in October), which is much better than the Coonawarra show.
...and if you are in W.A, other regional shows to attend are found on the Wine Industry Assoc of Western Australia website
http://www.winewa.asn.au/( might be worth joining the email list as the website can be a bit behind their newsletter) with the next event being....
11 March
Taste of WA Great Southern, Pemberton, Manjimup & Blackwood Valley wine tasting at Matilda Bay Restaurant from 5.30-8.00pm. More information will be sent out, but keep an eye on www.winewa.asn.au or contact (08) 9226 1188.

Can't find it through the links you provided. Is it still on?
Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.

Hi allan,
As i said the Web site is notoriously slow at updates to the show(s), i am on the mailing list with them and they emailed their
monthly newsletter to me with all the details of the show. I will post more about it, when i recieve the next installment from
them, meantime join the mailing list and you will probably get the next newsletter. The next newsltter will most likely have a list of the exhibitors on it....
Cheers
