With Champagne still in oversupply and reducing its prices on the market (some up to 25%!!!!), I hope to be able to pop more than one bottle this year!
Lanson is around $25 cheaper at the moment... for example.

Lets hope so, but the premium Champagne still much higher, I guessed is the scale of the economy. Cheers Boyeah
Everyday is a bonus! Drink the best wine you can afford.

Visited Vilmart early this year, tour, chat with the owner (s), tasting etc. Really very interesting and impressive!
Fantastic, really interesting style, wonderful wines, new oak and lots more happening, and the wine you have planned was one of the highlights of the tasting with the owner.
I've been collecting a few dozen bubbles (mostly Australian) recently, which I don't usually do. The rationale is that the delightful Sue likes to drink them in the newly acquired spa, but in practice, I've been buying opportunely. We intend to spend NYE in said spa (bubbles inside and out) so at least one champagne (as compared to Aussie fizz) is mandatory in my book.

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
It will be a delayed NYE, will still be at work offshore in Africa, but when I get home on the 7th Jan, wifey and I will celebrate a belated NYE with a 1996 Dom perignon and a Rockford Black Shiraz (disgorged 1996). cheers Gerry

Haven't had the 2004 Clover Hill but thought this would be a good one. Nothing special Monghead?

Yeah, nothing special. Upfront apples and hints of cashews, medium sized bubbles, short finish. Not very stylish, not that interesting for that matter.
