EVENT: Marananga Wine Show Public Tasting

Post by DaveB »

For Adelaidians....the Marananga Wine show judging took place today (Judges...Tash Mooney, Tim Smith and myself)...it is one of the few sub-regional shows in Australia and a great little event and one worth supporting.

The public tasting and awards presentation takes place on Saturday night, 29th of August, 7pm at the Old Distillery, Seppeltsfield Winery.

Entry is $15 for the evening and you get to be the judge for the peoples choice award to be decided on the night.

Cheers

Dave

Good point Gary. If you were to quote examples they could be allegations that would attract legal censure but do you have a particular show/wine/trophy in mind?

On the other hand, there is a panel of judges for wines show awards as I understand them to be constituted, with a chairperson with as final arbiter. Obvious self-promotion would be bound to create dissension.

Perhaps you could elaborate, diplomatically, without naming wines or judges?

I'm not saying there is no corruption in the wine show system but am curious as to your conception of the degree to which there is.

Cheers
