G'day Michel

Had lunch there in early Sep last year. The food was great and the service good also. It was a cold wet day and quite cold in the restaurant which I wasn't dressed for. Good wines there too (obviously).

Cheers

been there in March and last month.

Food as good as usual. no disappointment. Service standard slipped a bit though. A few new front of house staff. The one who served us last month seemed a bit confused on what she was doing.

Fino looks great. It's about a 40-50-minute drive if you get the freeway right. Further down the road, Doug at the Victory Hotel has apparently got a few gems on his wine list.

Thanks Adrian for the recommendation of Vincenzo's. Dined there for the first time last night and it was our first 'wow' dining experience for a while. Ticked every box and then some.
Will definitely be going back soon, and while I didn't ask, might well work for an offline at some stage.
Cheers

+1 for Fino. We enjoyed a very memorable dinner there a year or so back. Ticked many boxes although the bill certainly added up by the end, such is the free-for-all nature of the ordering - worth it though.
Cheers

Good news Nick! Lara and Vinc are doing some great things. I had a small gathering with my parents, partners mum for a combined celebration and they did an impeccable job. Pre-organised a menu which included plenty of treats - Mt Crawford pine mushrooms, Australian winter truffle, biggest morels I've seen outside of France...!

Sounds good thanks for the tip Adrian...must visit Vincenzo's methinks

I reckon we're due for an offline soon and this place seems ideal - fancy organising something Nick/Adrian?

Cheers,
Ian

Ps. Michel, I also highly recommend The Manse - one of Adelaide's truly great restaurants with a wine list to match. At the risk of a little drift, Gavin's Hoddles Creek event looks like ridiculously good value too.

I thought Luke Stepsys and the new crew at Magill Estate were still finding their feet late last year, and some of the dishes were honestly a little hit or miss. Next Monday I'm going to a food-wine matching event there, so it will be interesting to see if there's a leap in progress since then.
