Twitter

Post by bacchaebabe »

I've just recently signed up for twitter. I'm still not exactly sure how it all works. For someone who's been in IT for over 20 years, it seems all a bit newfangled. Maybe I'm finally getting old!

Anyhoo, I'll be talking shit at http://twitter.com/bacchaebabe

Does anyone else here twitter? I'd be interested to know.
Cheers,
Kris

Quite a few wineries. Markg and DaveB and Brad are the prominent ones that post here but I'm sure there are more.

cheers

Lazy Ballerina, Blue Poles, Teusner, Holm Oak, Arete, Wines by Brad, Chandon, Kilakanoon, Coriole, Strangebird (Granite Belt Qld conglomerate) and others, I think do a search on twitter index #wine. Lots of others doing it too. Or if you don't want to search, check out WineFront, click on who it's following and follow who you wish from there. It's especially good at harvest time if you're a wine tragic, you get the skinny on vintage and wine making details as they happen.

Hope that helps.
As always, IMVHO. And Cheers

Forgot about, Battle of Bosworth, Mantra Wines, Picardy, Mollydooker, Cape Mentelle, KarraYerta, ATLAS, Henschke, Yalumba, Elderton & more.

Most fun and educational to me- Mr Hook at Lazy Ballerina, DaveB at Teusner, Markg at Blue Poles. HolmOak too

And I tweet heaps under name Cluracan but don't bother following me unless you like a loud mouth and are not easily offended by language and honesty. I'm also locked down as i got tired of porn sites and marketers following me, so now requests have to be approved, and if someone is not a porn site or trying to sell me things/tell me how to get 1000000 followers in a day I approve :)

Thanks guys. All very interesting.

Jeremy, very funny re the random followers - I see what you mean. Don't worry, it's quite difficult to offend me - I used to work on submarines so am accustomed to Navy language.

ACG, I'm easily addicted.
Cheers,
Kris

I am enjoying Twitter, and the random information you pick up. https://twitter.com/lazyballerina

I recommend Battle of Bosworth https://twitter.com/Bosworthwines Did you know Louise likes Tom Waits? You do now.

Galafrey Wines - Kim Tryer https://twitter.com/kimtyrer is liking Sarah Blasco.

Just a heads up...we did our first we video today of the Riebke's pruning the Spur Vine Grenache vineyard not far from the Ebenezer church in the Northern Barossa.

We are only using a little flip video camera so it's a bit shakey and the sound isn't the best but it's a start. We'll be adding more videos shortly...vineyard and grower profiles, winemaking, wine profiles and Q&A video's from email questions that come in + I'll do a sub-regional overview from Williamstown and Lyndoch in the South up to St Kitts/koonunga in the North.

I'm a twit that doesn't tweet...

You're not the only one bacchae. As a born IT nerd (but professionally for 13 years)... don't worry I'm in the same boat as you, I still don't really 'get' the twitter phenomenon.... Just an old school geek I guess.

I know Blueberry Hill has Facebook and Myspace pages (nothing spectacular but interesting enough. No tweeting though)

Twenty years in IT? You newbie! Try 38 years....

Yeah, I've dipped my toe in the water: http://twitter.com/redbigot One of my followers is called Riesling Lover! :?

I don't know how people cope with following hundreds or thousands, you just wouldn't do anything else if you actually read all of those tweets.
Cheers
