Deep red in colour with a lighter brick hue at the edges, the bouquet was reminiscent of cassis, forest fruit and leather. The palate was a slightly different story, a lovely mouth filling ( no middle palate hole) wine with a good depth of flavours predominantly plums and blackberries.
The finish was long with dusty tannins predominant although not unpleasant, this wine is drinking well now but has all the characteristics that will see it develop further over the next 5-10 yrs.
Note: tasted 13.8.03. Vertical tasting consisting of the 97,98,99,00 & 01. Wine was not decanted and opened approx 1 hr before tasting.
