Can anyone actually explain what the difference is between the Top 100 and Blue Gold winners-is it actually top 200 or what. Much as i read the site i really cannot work it out!!!

Sydney Top 100
Surey VOILA...............??!!
Yes i have seen that page and maybe i am missing something but i find it particularly unclear. 4 different categories. OK first lot with food but what about blue gold crossovers ....???? Far too confusing for a simple pom

I thought the Top 100 had something to do with the availability of the wines, or the amount made, or something like that. I remember reading in the past where a Blue Gold winner that was also a 'special' trophy winner (but not in the Top 100) didn't get into the Top 100 because of limited production in the first place.
The way I read it all Blue Gold winners have been judged with food after the initial cull that eliminated wines before the food round.
Cheers,
Sue

Well it is clear that VIOLA! wasn't enough.............
Blue/Gold winners are the highest pointed 10% of the total entry. The top 100 winners are the top 6% of total entry.....the trophy winners are the highest pointed wines in each style category.
So in theory every wine in the top 100 is a blue gold.....after the first cull, they are assessed by weight, etc..they are then judged with food...from the blue/golds the top 100 are picked...yada yada
Clear as mud?

At least as clear as Juveniles 2000 (joke)......
Interesting competition-how is it viewed in Australia with the usual show result disdain?
