So When & Where is your next wine trip??

Post by ross67 »

For me and my wife and two wine loving friends.... we're off to McLaren vale/Barossa over June long weekend.

Yes i know it will be a busy time at those CD's but that's all part of the fun. :)

Also wouldn't mind doing the cheese trail in MV... Has anyone done it?

June should be fine as vintage should be well over and the baby sitting of tanks and barrels underway.

I'm just back from the same area so it will be a while before the next trip over, maybe September.

I've been wanting to do the Stonewaller's lunch at Rockford for quite a while so I guess that would be it. No idea when though.
Cheers,

Great Western is the plan - the drives at Seppelt, Bests etc. A bit of general driving around Great Western/Grampians/Pyrenees. Maybe visit the Royal Mail Hotel at Dunkeld.

Bucks do will be taking in Houghton's and Sandalford's CDs in the Swan Valley next weekend.

Then a day pottering round Margs after the wedding.

Then taking my mum up to the Hunter before Easter.

Then Central Otago at the end of May.

Cannot wait.

Denmark, mid-June.

Although it is likely I will get to MR again before then.

Off to the local wine shop for a tasting on Sat the 12st.

Visits to wine regions probably won't be until late in the year, unless a few friends show interest in a weekend in Napa/Sonoma/Russian River. The end of the year will be Australia but not sure where yet.

How about coordinating time and place so we can get together and have a glass or several.

Its a possibility. Miranda has been grumbling about taking all of the usual 3 weeks vacation especially when I mentioned Tassie! But she does want to return to WA - some place in the south to see something like a redwood forest, or something. :? As long as its close to wine country. Its really all going to depend on how the economy hurts her business. Let's keep this in mind and see if we can firm something up as the year progresses.

Last time I was in there having lunch it was booked out until Aug/Sept.

If anyone is coming to the Barossa and wants an appointment to drop into Teusner to try some wines, give me a yell :D

Ha, yeah that's kinda why i have no idea when. I hear they do occasionally get drop outs but it's hard to organise it quickly from Sydney.

With those bookings, I do wonder exactly how many stonewallers there are and how often they all go. I've never done it and it's been going a few years now. I really need to plan ahead.
Cheers,
Kris
