Bin 389 vintage 2000 any good

Post by pcjm »

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone knows how this wine is travelling at the moment. I was under my dad's house picking up a few bottles I had left there from last year when I found it. As dad isn't a red wine drinker he has let me take it home. Is it ready for drinking now, holding on to or discarding - TN would be greatly apprecitated as well.

Cheers

Paul

Hi paul,
I had a bottle of this the other week and although it's not quite up to the standard of other vintages, I quite enjoyed it (sorry - no TN). Recommendations from various critics and penfolds are to drink now or in the next couple of years as it won't age as well as better vintages, and in my humble opinion, I suspect that it's not going to hold up much longer... so I'm drinking my last few over the next year or so.
Ciao,
Tim
