Bloody SPAM

Post by TORB »

I know stopping these cretins is difficult but I over the last 10 days or so I have had my message in box hit with multiple spam message three times.

I am a member of multiple wine forums and this is the only one that gets my in box spammed. The question is why does it only happen here and not on the other forums.
Cheers

I haven't been hit - maybe they are just targetting your name - perhaps mistaking it for The old Randy Bastard :-))

I suspect it has something to do with date you joined the forum, they seem to pick from the top of the member list in default date-joined order. I get an occasional one, not as many as TORB. He's 3rd on the list, I'm 15th.

Life's too short to drink white wine and red wine is better for you too! :-)

Well

Guess who gets them all

Good old member number 1 - me!

BTW I actually have a new version of the forum ready, which will improve many of these problems

but

trying to move everything across, intact, keeping all members, all posts etc is actually quite problematic!

Someone must be working away in the background. I got a "New Private Message has arrived" at my email address only to find no new mesages in my Auswine mail.

I've copped the same as Mike, once or twice recently, but didn't think anything of it at the time. If there is a cause discovered, perhaps we could hear about it, especially if there is an easy fix.
Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
