2 red 2 whites for a gift today... help - $140

Post by rocknoise »

My friend just asked me and I have a few ideas.
But I'm interested in some thoughts.
He has $140 and has to find them today in Adelaide.
Can be mix of drink now and keep for a short while.
Any good cellar releases anyone can think of?
We're thinking a HV semillon, Mornington Pinot...
then some different things out of the norm would be nice malbec sangiovese and the likes.
Something to make a nice 4 pack...

The current (2002 ?) Tyrrells Vat 1 is a good wine. A slightly cheaper but just as meritorious option could be the Peter Lehmann Margaret Semillon. Both 2002 and 2003 vintage are very good wines.
What about a sparkling red since it's almost Christmas ?
Smack my [insert grape type here] up !

Now there's a man after my own heart!

(and I have just realised what a strange expression that is having written it down...)
