July - What have you been buying?
I suspect that the June thread spilled over into July some time ago. This month for me:
Torzi Matthews Schist Rock Shiraz (Eden) 2007 x 6
Peter Howland Pine Lodge Vineyard Shiraz (Mt Barker) 2005 x 4
Peter Howland Parsons Vineyard Shiraz (Frankland) 2005 x 4
Viking Grand Shiraz (Barossa) 2006 x 4
Tar & Roses Shiraz (Heathcote) 2007 x 6
Mike Press Shiraz (Adelaide Hills) 2007 x 12
Also a number each of Ingoldby Shiraz 2005 and Chardonnay 2006 as daily quaffers (a role they've performed very well indeed for < $10), along with perhaps similar numbers of Jacobs Creek Reserve Shiraz 2005 and Reserve Chardonnay 2005. There was a single bottle each of Chandon NV and Taylors Cab 2005/6(?) to celebrate with friends, my near to fully benign results of recent medical tests.
Cheers

Decant the 01 Johann for ages if you can. My latest opening was tough and unmanageable, albeit impressive in stature the first night but the next day was singing.
Cheers

6*04 Penfolds St Henri
6*06 Seppelt Chalembar
9*02 Wynns Black Label Cab Sav - missed out on release and got these for a relative bargain
3*06 Ata Range Pinot Noir
My Wild Duck Creek Standing order. Can't rememebr exactly what was in there but usually includes the Blend, the Springflat Shiraz, Alans Cabernets and the reserve shiraz and usually 6 of each except the reserves.
And finally 2*NV Moet - another two - couldn't resist at $50 a bottle.
I've noticed that champagne seems to be getting cheaper and cheaper or at least there's a lot on special around the place at the moment. I expect it's got something to do with the state of the financial markets and less people buying champagne all over the world but I've been buying up when I can.

The relative strength of the A$ is probably a factor as well.

Thanks for reminding me to do my tax return! Though the refund will be nowhere near enough to cover the cost of all of the above.
But it may be enough for a few more Polleters Cab 05 and some others to fill a case. I think I bought five bottles but have only two left after really enjoying the other three. Did you get your Polleters from the winery? If you got them from another source would you PM me the details?
Cheers

Not against the Euro unfortunately. On the other hand perhaps they can afford less of it in the US of A and the UK.
cheers

Bartenders are supposed to have people skills. Or was it people are supposed to have bartending skills?

Is Rolf making the Malcolm again? I thought the Election replaced that ages ago. As a matter of interest, how much was the Malcolm?
Cheers,

He never stopped, but like the Hanisch it is only made in the best years when enough quantity of the best material is available. In the lesser years it is poured into the Election or even further down the list. A 2005 is now available in very limited quantities, from memory 2 bottles per person on mail order at $150 per. I tasted this in barrel in March and it is a stunning example.
Rider; I sell the stuff so my opinion could be seen as biased.

Afaik he did lose access to the fruit/vineyard he was using for the Malcom after 1999 which is why he stopped making it ... I think I read this either on Noel Young's (UK partner) site or Rolf's.
