I don't normally post non-wine related opinions or rants here but I am going to today.
My mobile telco provider has sent me a flyer in with my last bill asking me to sign up to their email billing system OR face being charged $2.00 for paper bills in the future. Effectively charging me for the pleasure of billing me - this is outrageous in my opinion.
Now before someone comes on and rants about saving the planet and the forests (just like all the banks do on every paper bill they send through), I would like to point out that like many small businesses I need to print these invoices out for taxation, so whether it is my paper or their paper, there is no difference. It is nothing more than a scantily clad attempt to save them postage fee's, in fact they should be offering us a discount to take up their offer of email billing and not a penalty.
I can just see the look on my clients' faces when I send therm an invoice which includes $2 for receiving the invoice....priceless as they say.
Rant over.
