I might be bringing a guest if he has recovered from the jet lag (my father in law :shock:

). If all goes according to plan we'll be bringing a Brunello de Montalcino and an Oz or NZ Chardonnay.

I'm a little concerned about my access to glassware - we're in the middle of more renovations here and the cupboard containing my decent glasses is hard up against a wall with no way of getting the door open. Are the Soho glasses any good, or should I go and buy more to replace my breakages?

I'll be taking an 06 Ata Rangi Chardonnay, an 04 Tapanappa cabernet shiraz, and probably an 04 Noon Solaire just because I acquired some recently and it looks pretty crazy...!

I can now confirm that I'll be bringing a guest. The Brunello was unfortunately sold out and will be replaced with a super tuscan. Thus, the wines we'll be bringing is a 2005 Marchesi de Frescobaldi Mormoreto (cab sav, merlot, cab franc and petite verdot) and a 2005 Kumeu River Mates Chardonnay. Looks like it's gonna be a very interesting offline! Thanks for yet again organizing Ian!

Start time was listed as 7:00 Mark - no problems if you make it there 7:30, we'll just have to try and keep a little left in the first bottles and you might have a little hectic catching up to do.

Thanks Adrian for offering Steve some glasses to use - one of the reasons we get the deals we do at SOHO is that it's BYO glasses, and going by the volume of wines this time I think we'll all need a few to get through them all. :shock:

At this stage I'm planning on either taking either a magnum of 1992 Mitchell Cabernet Sauvignon or 1990 Basedow Shiraz to go with the beef, and either a 375ml Dutschke Tawny or a sticky to match the dessert. Lagare Lout is doubtful he can make it, but said not to completely rule him out at this stage.

I haven't decided what to take as yet.

Sorry I haven't been following the thread. Was the theme supposed to be Italian or something ? I had a 91 Gaja lined up but maybye I should bring something more in line with everyone else ? Hmmmm, I may just have something in the wine fridge.

Pity about the 1999 JR - I was looking forward to trying that. :cry:

I just had a look at what I was taking, and was thinking a 375ml bottle of Dutschke 22yo Tawny wouldn't really go around 17-19 people (even though a little goes a very,very long way). I've got a 750ml 1983 Chateau Coutet Sauternes that I've been meaning to open a while, so I'll take that instead.

I've got a 1990 reynella vintage port which has been cellared for a while and a 2003 Aberfeldy which has been cellared for less but I saw a recent comment on this Tim Adams wine suggesting it is delicous early as well as later on. I hope so. Looking forward to seeing everyone again

I'm glad you enjoyed it Adrian - I couldn't pick up any taint in any of the wines, but a couple were definitely weird/off specimens.

My notes could be a while coming - this week has turned out to be incredibly busy with no real sign of letting up. I think I must have been slack & talking a bit more this time (as well as tipping over bottles) as some of my notes are incredibly brief - that Frescobalidi Mormoreto must have been good becuase I didn't write a single word about it! :oops:
