G'day guys n girls, this is my first post of many i hope and i thought i might as well start off with an october thread. i'm pretty new to wine collecting but i have to say its become my new most expensive hobby LOL, havent said that, here's my list for oct keeping in mind oct 1st was my bday and i spent up big, as you do :wink:

Going through a self-enforced buying hiatus and a self-enforced drink-down of the cellar for the next couple of months. Need to recoup the financial outlook for a little while.

Some notable exceptions though:

Trip to Rockford planned next weekend with expected purchase of 6 BP 05s and maybe a smattering of others, depends on what I like.

Vinh, didn't know Best's made a Thomson in 2002. In fact I thought they scrapped their Bin 0 and it all went in cleanskin format to various Redbigots :wink:

. Sure it's not 01 or 04?

Had the Thomson 04 a few nights back. Needs time. Not sure it's worth 2.5 times the price of Seppelt St. Peters. Come back in 15 years material.

Yeah your correct jay60A, its is a 2004, musta been a typo, it was late at night, i had a 99 St Peters couple weeks back but i cant compare as i've never tried the Thomson yet,

I got a mixed 6-pack from Ngeringa (3xPinot, 2xSyrah & 1xChardonnay) - I'm looking at trying the Pinot & Chardy soon, maybe one or both could make an appearance at the next offline...

I also split a dozen of the 2006 Mike Press Shiraz & 2005 Mike Press Merlot with a mate - a bottle of the Merlot should be on the tasting bench sometime very soon.

Thought the Philip 2004 might go easily a couple of years more, seemed to have a good tannin structure..?

I haven't Craig, no - not sure I've seen it. Is it an off-dry style?

The Charcoal Creeks is about 95g/l, though I guessed it at 50g/l - so a little sweeter than just 'offdry'.

I thought it was the best of the 3 Peregrine Rieeslings.
