Winter Creek Tasting Australia Invitation

I hope Gavin doesn't mind this post - it's a bit self promoting.

We will be joining 15 other small Barossa winemakers in a marquee at the "Feast for the Senses" at Elder Park on Saturday 13th Oct from 4pm to 9pm and Sunday 11am to 6pm. Good food, great wine and beer and a great day.

This will be a fantastic event and a real opportunity to try some hand crafted wines.

I would love to see Forumites there and I issue an invitation for you to introduce yourself and I will take you to the VIP area to try our current releases plus the yet to be released 2005 "The Old Barossa Blend" Grenache Shiraz and the 2005 Barossa Shiraz and receive a badged Winter Creek glass as a gift.. We will be also be releasing our 2007 Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc.

Hope to see you there. There will be some great wines from some great winemakers. (big and small)

Me and my family were planning a trip to the Barossa next weekend. We'll definitely drop by, probably on sunday.

Is anyone else going to the James Squires Beer, and Wine Writers event that's part of Tastes of Australia over the 13-14th weekend? It's at the museum in North Terrace..

Not familiar with Adelaide, which landmark is Elder Park close to?

Right next to the Festival Theatre & Torrens Lake off King William St.

I'm looking forward to it, especially to catch up with David & Pam again.

Yep, I'll be spending a lot of time at the James Squire thing. Should be good!

We were down there setting up yesteray and it looks like being a great event. Th times are 4pm to 9pm Saturday and 11am to 6pm Sunday.

I'm still recovering from a bout of the flu that hit me like a train Wednesday-Friday. I'm just starting to get my sinuses back today, so with a little luck I might be well enough to at least get something out of it tomorrow.

I'll be there, with my family. We drove around in the Barossa Valley today just to warm up. Got knocked out of my boots when tasting the Rockford vintage port 1999. Fantastic stuff. I'll contribute with som TNs later.

Caught up with David & Pam last night. Wonderfully treated to a seat in the "V.I.P." room, a bizarre experience of walking through to the back of the tented area to be seated upon beautiful Barossa made furniture, button upholstered in velour! Nice touch David!

Tried the '05 Grenache/Shiraz & the (not yet released) '05 Shiraz. David & Pam are doing good work here, maintaining the spicier, lighter notes more common in the Mornington type shiraz, coupled with fantastic full fruit more reminiscent of the Barossa. I picked up a couple of '05 Grenache/Shiraz and Chardonnay to drink this week but I'll certainly be placing my order for some of the '05 Shiraz to put away!

The event was not as busy as I had expected, a group of us easily able to get tables. Good food and wine available, I think it might be a touch busier today!. Worth a visit.

Despite still being far less than 100% recovering from the flu I still had a great afternoon Sunday.

My thanks to David & Pam Cross of Winter Creek, Andrew Seppelt & Lydia Paech of Murray St. Vineyards, and Kym Jenke for spending so much time with us.
