Henschke Hill of Grace 1999

American critics' views diverge on this wine:

Wine Spectator 82
Wine Advocate 98

Anyone here has had experiences going one way or the other? Or other tasting reports?

Many thanks

Sorry Oliver, no experience on it but I'm extremely interested to hear opinions myself.

Come on folks if you’ve tried it, please report it.

I know... For me and some very dedicated tasters, this is borderline price for sharing a bottle. However I foundly remember a bottle of 1998 we drank August 2004... Never had an Australian wine with such a delicate and so incredibly perfumed palate.

Maybe $600 for the 98 pointer and $204 for the 82  I would advise you check with the retailer to make sure you get the right one though.

no the $204 was for a 99 vintage. So was the $395, so was the $600. saw them all in the flesh, all of them within the last week

as for getting the right one, i dont think so - my hill of grace buying days ended at 1992!

I've had 2 (tastes). One was sublime, one was bretty and short. IMO this would explain point discrepancies.
