Mitolo Savitar 04 or Mt Edelstone 02 ?

Post by Enzot »

Hi all

Just a quickie on which of these wines you'd buy as I have a chance on both. These vintages are quite hard to come by in the U.K

The Mt Edelstone 02 costs £39.99 a bottle
The Mitolo Savitar 04 £27.95 a bottle

I'm a big fan of the Mt Edelstone but have been a bit disappointed with the Mt Edelstone since the 1994.I've never tasted the Savitar.

Thanks

Not sure on the Savitar - it's probably fine - but the 02 Mt Ed is a legendary wine.

Hi,

The Savitar 04 is an epic wine. If you are familiar with the McLaren Vale style and like the full frontal fruit power of the 2004 vintage then you will love this.

The 02 Mt Edelstone is also terrific. There were a couple of bumps in the road for Henschke towards the end of the century but this is super. They have recently been busy converting the vineyard to organics and also to Scott-Henry trellising- not resting on their laurels, anyway.

Cheers

Yeh, not sure about the whole Scott-Henry thing though. Especially if they're going organic. :?

Sorry, thread hijack.
