Kmart are selling a 40 bottle wine fridge at $199 from today (wed 4th Jan) until Friday Jan 6. (www.kmart.com.au - page 2 of catalog)
The brand is Mistral, and I don't know much else, although I'm going to go and have a look because $5/bottle is good value.
If anyone has seen the unti in question then I'd love to hear opinions.
Mistral 40 bottle wine fridge - $199
I got one of these units last time Kmart had them for $199, around 6 months ago. I'm quite happy with it for the price and for my intended purpose (storing ready to drink bottles onsite or delivered bottles before I take them to my offsite storage).
It did struggle a little bit in last weeks extreme heat and temps went up a couple of degrees, but I was expecting that to be the case.
No humidity control, but it seems to stay in the 60-80% range.
Note that 40 bottles is a rather optimistic estimate, especially if you have lots of Champagne or big Burgundy bottles. Probably 36-38.
Happy with it for short term storage but probably not for long term (due to temperature shifts and some vibration when the compressor turns on).
