Help with Fortifieds

Post by action2096 »

Calling all the fortified experts :)

Looking for some help with a gift for a friend of mine who likes fortified wines. Only trouble is that i know nothing about them..

Looking to spend about $30-40 and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions ?? The only port he's mentioned that he likes in the past is penfolds granfather port but thats a little over my budget !!

Thanks
Chris

Seppelt Para Single Vintage (1983) Tawny - sells for $29.95 and drinks better having been opened for a day or three (and will last for weeks in the fridge) - try a little chill on it at first - it'll taper the agressiveness and heat of the spirit.
Cheers,

David

Try the VP from Stanton and Killeen. In my opinion one of the best in Australia. It contains many varieties which are indigenous to authentic ports like Touriga Nacional and for me that adds an extra layer of complexity to the wine. I think it may be available around the $30+ price point.
